Why?

The Starterkit

Step 1: Identify the Need & Know Your Community

Every successful project starts with understanding. Take time to learn about local food insecurity and connect with the pantries or organizations already working in your area. This foundation ensures your project directly meets the needs of your neighbors.

Step 2: Gather Your Core Team

You don’t have to do it alone. Form a small group of committed volunteers who can help plan, organize, and spread the word. We’ll provide materials, training, and proven strategies to make it easier to get started.

Step 3: Launch A Pilot Program

Put your project into action with a pilot food drive. We’ll guide you through simple steps—providing bags, scripts, and communication tools—so you can focus on connecting with neighbors and collecting food.

Step 4: Grow & Build Consistency

With your first collection complete, you’ll work toward building regular, predictable food drives. This consistency transforms one-time generosity into lasting impact, making sure pantries can count on your support month after month.

Step 5: Operate as an Independent Project

As your project matures, you’ll have the systems and community trust to operate independently. We’ll still be here as a resource, but you’ll be leading a sustainable program that strengthens your community for years to come.
