Port Townsend Food Project

Port Townsend Food Project Green Bag Logo

The Port Townsend Food Project is dedicated to providing consistent, nutritious, and varied food donations to the Port Townsend Food Bank. Our mission is to make it easy for neighbors to help neighbors, and to strengthen our community through involvement and awareness. The recipe is simple…

Every 2 months, your coordinator will schedule the pick up, grab your bag of food, drop off an empty bag, and deliver ALL the green bags the Port Townsend Food Bank.

We give you a GREEN bag. Every time you go shopping, add 1 more can, or package, to your cart, and drop it in the green bag when you get home.

Our Story

The Port Townsend Food Project was launched as a response to the delay of SNAP funding in 2025. Trish Cardosa, who initiated the project, had recently moved to Port Townsend from Ashland, OR, where there is a thriving Food Project. Her inaugural group was the Port Townsend Cold Plungers, and they were MORE then happy to participate and support. This lead to individual plungers signing up to be coordinators for their neighborhoods or groups! We now have 6 coordinators, over 70 contributors, and we are looking forward to signing up more!

Partner Pantry

Our Food Project has successfully partnered with the Jefferson County Food Bank Association in Port Townsend. They are very grateful for our support, and together we look forward to the project growing, and becoming a sustaining avenue of donations from and for our community. Get Involved

Most of us want to help, but don’t have the extra time in our days. This is how the Food Project can help you. We can be your conduit to the Food Bank and your neighbors. All you need to do is grab 1 extra food item each time you go shopping.

If you want to participate as either a coordinator or a contributor, please contact us below.
