Bryce strongly believes that the best solutions to local problems come from local people. Prior to joining the NFP, Bryce founded the Georgetown Neighborhood Food Project, giving him valuable insight into how to run a Food Project and how powerful the system is for combatting food insecurity. With the NFP, he has worked to strengthen relationships with active Food Projects across the country, build the infrastructure needed to support new ones, and develop the tools and systems that help communities run their projects with confidence. He believes the Neighborhood Food Project model is one of the most effective and underutilized community-building tools in America, and is committed to spreading it.
The people behind the Neighborhood Food Project come from different places and different backgrounds. What brings them together is a shared belief that communities are capable of solving their own problems — and that hunger is a problem worth solving together.
This work isn’t driven by a top-down mandate or a government program. It’s driven by neighbors who decided to do something, and by the people who support them in doing it.
